Guitar and Bass Picks
For guitar and bass picks I recommend the Dunlop Gator Grip picks. There are a few different gauges to choose from. I like to use the .58mm (the orange one) and the 1.5mm (the dark green one) for acoustic and electric guitar. For Bass guitar I like to use the 2.0mm (the black one). One dozen picks retail for about $5.00

Metronomes
I recommend the Korg MA1 which retails for about $20. If you own a smart phone or tablet I would recommend checking out any available metronome apps on the app store as they will typically be much cheaper than a hardware metronome.

Instrument Cables
Instrument cables are the cables you use to plug your electric guitar or electric bass into your amplifier. For instrument cables I recommend the cable brands Mogami and Livewire. These cable brands provide an excellent quality signal and they both offer a lifetime warranty which means that no matter how many times your cable breaks (and trust me they will break) you can always return it and get a brand new one! Be sure to purchase your cables from a local retailer like Guitar Center so that when the cable breaks you can easily take it in for a free replacement.
